Dr. Jorge Chahla Ranked Number One in the United States for Orthopaedic Surgery Research
Jorge Chahla, MD, PhD, has been ranked the number one US based scholar in Orthopaedic Surgery and number four worldwide in the 2024 ScholarGPS Highly Ranked Scholars list.
The distinction reflects scholarly performance during the five year period from 2019 through 2023. ScholarGPS evaluates researchers using publication productivity, citation impact and h index. Dr. Chahla is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He serves as Director of Biomechanical Research and Director of the International Fellowship Program.
His clinical and research interests include complex knee reconstruction, ACL injuries, meniscus preservation, cartilage restoration, hip arthroscopy, joint preservation and sports medicine. His work has helped advance the understanding of challenging knee and hip conditions while supporting new surgical techniques and recovery strategies.
