Mary Kate Walsh, PA-C
Mary Kate is a physician assistant to Dr. Chahla. As a member of the sports medicine team, Mary Kate assists Dr. Chahla with seeing patients in clinic and formulating diagnosis and treatment plans. Additionally, she offers surgical assistance in the operating room, while also working closely with patients to provide both preoperative and postoperative education. She received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology with a minor in Science, Technology, and Values from the University of Notre Dame in 2015. While receiving her Master of Physician Assistant Studies Degree from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Mary Kate was elected into Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants. A lifelong athlete, Mary Kate has always had a passion for orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Through an approach based on compassion and individualized care, Mary Kate has devoted her career to helping patients regain their desired levels of activity and return to sport.
McKena is the administrative assistant to Dr. Chahla. As a member of his team McKena assists with clinic, scheduling, and patient reception and service. McKena graduated from Millikin University, Summa Cum Laude, with a bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance. Originally from Wyoming, McKena grew up as a competitive dancer, and continues to teach dance in the Chicagoland area. Being apart of the team means being able to help patients resume their passions and McKena is humbled to have a small part in their journey. McKena is thrilled to be a member of Dr. Chahla’s, team for Midwest Orthopedics at Rush.
